Kazakh engineers have started the practical stage of their training at the headquarters of Tecnicas Reunidas (TR) in Madrid. The program is being implemented jointly with KazMunayGas and is aimed at training local specialists in engineering and project management.
The first, theoretical stage of the program was conducted online and focused on the fundamentals of project engineering. The second module, currently taking place in Spain, includes internships within the company’s specialized engineering departments. By the end of the year, participants will apply their acquired knowledge in practice and master modern methods for implementing large-scale industrial projects. The program is fully funded by TR.
Half of the first cohort consists of graduates from Atyrau-based universities: Safi Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas and APEC PetroTechnic Higher College. Other participants represent Kazakh-British Technical University (Almaty), Nazarbayev University (Astana), Satbayev University (Almaty) and Yessenov University (Aktau).
All participants hold engineering degrees in fields such as chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical and aerospace engineering, as well as automation and process control.
The practical stage of training will enable Kazakh specialists to deepen their professional competencies, gain international experience and prepare for participation in major industrial projects. Upon completion of the program, the best graduates will have the opportunity to join the Silleno project — the construction of a polyethylene production plant in the Atyrau region, as well as other global projects of TR worldwide.
Tecnicas Reunidas is one of the EPC contractors for the pyrolysis unit of the polyethylene plant with a capacity of 1.25 million tons per year in the Atyrau region. The Spanish engineering company has completed more than a thousand industrial projects around the world.
