On October 10, the annual forum of the International Center for Development of Oil and Gas Machine Building (IMB Center) was held in Aktau, organized jointly with the Ministry of Energy.

The event brought together Members of Parliament, representatives of government agencies, JSC NC “KazMunayGas,” major project operators and domestic enterprises. Participants discussed measures to increase the share of local content and ways to further involve Kazakhstani manufacturers in large-scale investment projects.

In his address, Silleno’s General Director Mukhtar Avutbayev spoke about the implementation of one of Kazakhstan’s largest petrochemical initiatives — the construction of a polyethylene plant. He emphasized the company’s openness to cooperation with local suppliers and highlighted the importance of collaboration with the IMB Center.

As part of the forum, an “Open Day” was also held with the participation of major operators — Tengizchevroil (TCO), the North Caspian Project Operator (NCOC), Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), Kalamkas Khazar Operating (KKO), Silleno and KMG PetroChem. During the event, companies showcased the goods and equipment used in the implementation of large-scale projects.

Representatives from Silleno’s procurement division outlined the company’s procurement procedures and addressed questions from domestic manufacturers and service providers.

Earlier, in September this year, during a forum for local companies held as part of the “Polyethylene” project, Silleno signed an agreement to join the IMB Center Association. The forum has become an important platform for discussing opportunities to localize the production of equipment for the petrochemical industry. The event brought together more than 700 participants representing over 500 Kazakhstani companies.
