Representatives of public organizations from the Atyrau region visited enterprises involved in the processing of polymer raw materials and the production of finished products in the region.
At Grand Materik LLP, the participants were introduced to the new polyethylene sack production facility with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons. The equipment is currently assembled and undergoing testing. Raw materials are still imported from Russia, but plans are in place to transition to domestic materials in the future. The plant will create 120 jobs, demonstrating the multiplier effect of the oil and gas chemical industry on the regional economy.
Next, the participants visited the plant of Intago Kazakhstan LLP, which specializes in the production of nonwoven geosynthetic materials. Geotextiles are used in road construction to protect asphalt from damage, in strengthening building foundations, creating drainage systems, and constructing artificial reservoirs. The plant is located within the special economic zone “National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark”.
Polymer raw material processors discussed production technology and emphasized the importance of transitioning to domestic raw materials in the near future.
