Atyrau hosted the graduation ceremony for the first cohort of the MAIRE Jaryq Academy, an international educational programme designed to train future engineers and technical specialists for Kazakhstan’s petrochemical industry.
The first 19 participants, students of the Safi Otebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, successfully completed the six-month programme implemented by the international engineering company MAIRE (Tecnimont) in cooperation with JSC NC KazMunayGas. MAIRE is a strategic partner in the implementation of major petrochemical projects in the Atyrau region, including the construction of the polyethylene plant and the Gas Separation Complex.
The programme for the first cohort consisted of two stages. Over six months, the students received theoretical training at the Tecnimont office in Atyrau and gained practical insight into the implementation of petrochemical projects at the construction site of Silleno’s polyethylene plant.
The second cohort, comprising 20 graduates of Nazarbayev University, the Kazakh-British Technical University, and the Safi Otebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, has already begun the programme.
The training consists of three stages. The theoretical training took place in Atyrau. Participants then continued their studies at MAIRE (Tecnimont) in Milan, where they explored modern engineering solutions and attended business training sessions at Politecnico di Milano, one of Europe’s leading technical universities. The final stage will take place at the company’s engineering centre in Mumbai, India, where participants will gain practical experience at one of MAIRE’s largest engineering hubs. The third cohort is scheduled to begin in September.
During its first year, the programme will involve 60 young specialists, with approximately 240 participants expected to complete the programme over four years.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates will have the opportunity to contribute to major projects in Kazakhstan, including the construction of the polyethylene plant and the Gas Separation Complex.
