Construction of a polyethylene plant with a capacity of 1.25 million tonnes per year is ongoing in the Atyrau region.
Currently, construction activities are underway at two key process units. Overall project progress has reached 27%, with works proceeding in accordance with the schedule.
At the pyrolysis unit, piling works are nearing completion (96%). Foundation works (30%) and installation of precast reinforced concrete structures (14%) for future pipe racks are ongoing. In line with the schedule, installation of steel structures for the main pipe rack commenced in April.
At the second key unit — polymerization and utilities, infrastructure, and offsite (UI&O) facilities, earthworks (25%) and piling works (25%) are ongoing.
More than 1,700 personnel and over 330 units of equipment are engaged at the construction site. The majority of construction and installation work is being carried out by Kazakhstani companies.
Commissioning of the plant and production of the first products are scheduled for 2029.
