Silleno LLP and Karl Schmidt Spedition GmbH & Co (KSS) have signed an EPC contract for the construction of a logistics complex as part of the polyethylene plant project in the Atyrau region. The signing ceremony was attended by Mukhtar Avutbayev, General Director of Silleno LLP, and Thomas Schmidt, CEO of SCHMIDT Group.

The project will enable the development of one of the largest logistics complexes in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry.

KSS will deliver the engineering, procurement, and construction of the logistics complex, a key element of the future plant’s infrastructure.

The Silleno logistics complex is designed to handle up to 1.25 million tonnes of polyethylene pellets per year, including packaging, storage, and subsequent shipment to customers. Deliveries will be made to both domestic and export markets via rail and road transport.

The complex will comprise 11 facilities, including storage silos, a main building for packaging, palletizing and storage operations, a warehouse for finished products and auxiliary materials, shipping areas, an administrative and operations building with a control room, a container terminal, a container repair workshop, open storage areas, as well as a transformer substation.

The facility is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2028.

The project includes advanced digital solutions to automate processes and enhance the efficiency of logistics operations.
