Young engineers from Kazakh universities have completed a training program in the Spanish capital under an educational initiative jointly developed by JSC NC KazMunayGas and engineering company Tecnicas Reunidas (TR — the EPC contractor for the Polyethylene Project).

The engineering and project management training program consisted of two stages: over six months, participants completed intensive online courses followed by practical internships at Tecnicas Reunidas’ headquarters in Madrid. The program is fully funded by Tecnicas Reunidas.

The first cohort included 31 participants. Among them, 22 Kazakh specialists received job offers from Tecnicas Reunidas and will be involved in the construction of the polyethylene plant in the Atyrau region.

All participants hold engineering degrees in chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical and aerospace engineering, as well as automation and process control.

Previously, top graduates from universities in Atyrau, Almaty, Astana and Aktau were selected for the program. The educational initiative is designed for four years, during which at least 120 Kazakh graduates are expected to complete training.

Background:
Tecnicas Reunidas is one of the EPC contractors for the pyrolysis unit of the polyethylene plant under construction in the Atyrau region, with a capacity of 1.25 million tons per year. The Spanish engineering company has delivered more than 1,000 industrial projects worldwide.
